Nordika Travel is offering an adventure trip 7 days and 6 nights. This is a small group adventure tour with a professional guide to the wild and untouched nature. The tour is filled with action; ice fishing, glacier hiking, hiking or cross-country skiing. The first trips emphasize horse-riding and kayaking. You will be visiting, Deildartunguhver, Barnafossar and Hraunfossar (waterfalls on the way to the Westfjords). A guided tour in the area. Search for the Northern Lights. Visits to the settlement museum in Borgarnes and to the Museum of Witchcraft of Holmavik. In addition you can explore the capital city Reykjavik. Northern Lights Hunt in the evenings subject to conditions.

Come discover northern lights in Heydalur in the North-Western part of Iceland, and enjoy winter adventure and Icelandic hospitality.

Day 1

Arrival and Reykjavik

Arrival In Iceland. Shuttle transfer from the Airport to the hotel in Reykjavik where you stay the first night. Free day to explore the Capital, depending on your arrival time. You can visit museums and art galleries, or simply enjoy one of the outdoor geothermal pools.

Day 2

Reykjavík – Borgarnes - Hraunfossar - Reykholt - Westfjords

Today we head north to the Westfjords. You will be picked up at your accommodation at 10am and from there we will head to Borgarnes where we stop by at the Settlement Center where we see both The Settlement Exhibition and The Egils Saga Exhibition. Lunch here is included. Next we stop by at Deildartunguhver hot spring and Snorralaug pool in Reykholt. We visit the Hraunfossar waterfalls and continue to the Westfjords. Dine a three-course dinner at your accommodation and relax in the hot tub observing the magical Northern Lights subject to conditions,

Day 3

Ísafjörður - Gamli Bær - Ósvör - Melrakkasetrið - Súðavík

Visit Ísafjörður, the capital of the Westfjords. You will go seal-watching and stop by at a few viewpoints on the way. In Ísafjörður you will have lunch at the hotel and visit the Gamli Bær “Old Town”, a unique church and one of the most beautiful buildings in Iceland. You will also visit Ósvör Maritime Museum. On the way back we stop by at Melrakkasetrið, The Arctic Fox Center, and learn the history of Súðavík. From there we go back to the Old Town where we have waffles and then continue to our accommodation. Northern Lights Hunt during the evening subject to conditions.

Day 4

Kaldalón - Glacier Hike

We will visit the Kaldalón fjord if weather allows and take a hike to the Glacier Drangjökull. We visit the locals and find another hike trail if the weather is to bad for Kaldalón. Northern Lights Hunt during the evening subject to conditions.

Day 5

Ice Fishing - Vatnsfjörður - Horseback Riding

Ice Fishing and a sightseeing around the neighborhood. We visit Vatnsfjörður fjord where we will see souvenirs from the settlement era. In September/October months you will have the possibility to go horseback riding. Northern Lights Hunt during the evening subject to conditions.

Day 6

Back to Reykjavík

We head back to Reykjavík with a stop at the Museum of Icelandic Sorcery & Witchcraft in Hólmavík. Spend the night in Reykjavík city.

Day 7

Departure

Explore Reykjavik in the morning.

Optional - visit to the Blue Lagoon Spa on your way to the airport. Shuttle pick up from hotel in the morning depending on your departure time. Spend several hours in the lagoon for a good relaxation.

THE ITINERARY DEPENDS ON WEATHER EACH DAY. ACTIVITIES WILL BE DONE AS WEATHER BEST SUITES.
