*Please note that the package price is based on 24 hour rental days starting at the time of rental. If your flight arrives early on day 1 and departs late on departure day, an extra rental day is available. You can also choose to return the car in Reykjavik when the car rental ends and use Flybus Plus or private departure transfer.

Day 1

Arriving in Keflavik.

Arrive early morning and pick up the car at the airport and drive to your hotel in Reykjanes area.
After early check in (if available) and resting explore the Reykjanes peninsula.
REYKJANES Peninsula is a geothermal wonder. The Blue lagoon, The Bridge over two continents, Volcanic Craters, lava fields and hot springs. Explore the Reykjanes area in the afternoon.

Day 2 and 3

Whalefjord – Borgarfjörður - Snæfellsnes

Travel to West Iceland and spend the day in the Borgarfjörður valley, famous for its sagas of the Viking time. Here you find Deildartunguhver, Europe's most powerful hot spring. Continue to Hraunfossar and Barnafoss waterfalls. There are several museums in the area such as the Icelandic settlement museum in Borgarnes, Snorrastofa culture and history exhibition and Hvanneyri Farm Machinery Museum. Drive on to the Snæfellsnes Peninsula and stay there for 2 nights. An interesting option is to take a boat trip on the Breiðafjördur Bay, where you have the possibility of seeing whales, birds and other wildlife. The islands in the bay are countless.

Day 4

From the West to the South via the Golden Circle

Today you drive east to the ring road at the village Borgarnes and head south to the shores of Hvalfjörður (Whale Fjord) and continue inland into Þingvellir National Park, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, is one of Iceland's most fascinating places due to both its impressive geological formations and for the significant role it plays in the country's history as the original meeting site of the Icelandic parliament, the oldest existing parliament in the world.
In the afternoon you can visit hot springs, waterfalls and lava caves or put your feet up for some first class spa services. This is a good area for independent hiking. We can also arrange scuba diving and river rafting.
This is a 4 star sightseeing trip and you should allow enough time for exploring the world famous Geysir geothermal area and the Gullfoss waterfalls. River Jet and River rafting are interesting options in the Golden Circle. Stay one night in the region.

Day 5

South Iceland - Glaciers Volcanoes and Black Beaches

Today you will drive through the southwest of Iceland. Stop along the way to visit two of Iceland’s most beautiful waterfalls; Seljalandsfoss and Skógafoss. Here you can optionally do a guided glacier walk, take a Super Jeep tour to the Eyjafjallajökull volcanoe or Þórsmörk Valley or visit to the Vestman Islands. Stay 2 nights in the Southern area.
Interesting activities in this area, Super Jeep tours, Glacier walk or visit to the Vestman Islands. This is a collection of 15 islands off the southwest coast of Iceland and is home to about 5000 inhabitants and many birds and interesting sea life. The settlement of Heimaey is famous for its 1973 volcanic eruption.

Day 6 and 7

Skaftafell National Park and Jökulsárlón Glacier Lagoon

Drive east to Skaftafell National Park nestled under Europe’s largest glacier Vatnajökull in southeast Iceland. Explore the park on foot. Visit also the Jökulsárlón, the great glacial lake (full of floating icebergs) that didn't exist before 1900 and could disappear with new seismic or volcanic action. Boat trips on the lake are dream-like with the shapes and beautiful hues of blues visible in the calved glacial ice, a photographer's paradise. Stay 2 or 3 nights in the area.

Day 8

Southwest Iceland

Today you will head back west along the ring road to southwest Iceland. As you continue to head west, you’ll be able to take in the amazing scenery of black lava beaches and colorful coastal villages.

Day 9

Reykjavik City and Museums

Reykjavik is an exciting modern city with lots to see and do, or if you want to relax visit one of the many spas and swimming pools. You can also visit some of many museums in Reykjavik.

Day 10

Departure and the Blue Lagoon

If you leave in the afternoon you can spend the morning in Reykjavik.

REYKJAVÍK is the northern most capital city in the world. Lined with colorful, corrugated steel buildings, the streets in the downtown area are very pedestrian-friendly and full of fascinating museums, quaint shops, and cozy cafes. Spend the morning exploring the city at your leisure and then head back to Keflavík airport.
