Day 2

FONTANA SPA AND THE GOLDEN CIRCLE

Fontana Spa and the Golden Circe. A full day tour, with pick up from hotel in the morning.
You visit three of Iceland´s most famous places - Gullfoss waterfall, Geysir hot spring area and Þingvellir national park. We also make a stop in Laugarvatn, which is famous for its natural sauna, built above a real live hot spring. The original sauna was built in the 1920s.
In the Fontana Spa there are three steam rooms. They have been built over a natural hot spring that has been used since 1929. The temperature of the steam varies depending on the temperature of the hot spring and weather, usually between 40°C (104°F) and 50°C (122°F).Humidity is high in the steam room cabins. Grids in the floor of the steam rooms allow guests to hear and smell the boiling natural hot spring underneath, creating a natural and totally unique experience. There is also a Finnish-style sauna. There are also 3 interconnected outdoor mineral baths that vary in depth, size and temperature. Some areas are suitable for relaxation and a panoramic view of the beautiful surroundings while the healthy water nourishes both body and soul.
Completing the ensemble are the lake and the beach, which has warm black sand, which has been shown to be beneficial for those suffering from arthritis and other joint illnesses. The lake provides an opportunity to cool down between visits to the steam baths, with a temperature shift which is both healthy and strengthening.

It is included in a list of 25 locations around the globe in the magazine’s special edition on wonders of the world.
In its description of the Blue Lagoon National Geographic says "the steaming turquoise pools of Iceland's Blue Lagoon, trapped in volcanic rock represent an otherworldly vision." National Geographic says that Blue Lagoon is a geothermal gift of nature.
