Terms and Conditions

These terms and conditions set out the terms on which you contract with Nordika Travel, All Iceland LLC.

All Information provided on this website www.nordikatravel.com is to the best of our knowledge correct at the time of publication. We will advise you of any changes that are fundamental to the contractor which we believe will affect your vacation. Please contact us if you have any requirements which are fundamental to your vacation so that we can give you the latest information at the time of booking. These are general terms and conditions. Special terms and conditions may apply for groups, which will be listed in an agreement between the parties concerned. 

1. Prices

All prices are quoted in U.S. dollars and are listed per person, based on double occupancy, if not otherwise stated. When the service offering is presented as a package, the quoted price represents a complete package price and an itemization of individual components cost will not be rendered.

2. Booking

When booking a vacation package which does not include flights, a deposit of 20% or a minimum of $200 per person is required to confirm the booking. When booking a package which includes flights, a payment of the deposit and the full airfare is required to guarantee the flights. In the case that a booking is made less than 6 weeks prior to the travel date, a payment of the full price is required. The person making the booking is responsible for the party signed for on the booking form. You must be at least 18 years of age to make a booking. When a booking is made on our website an immediate confirmation is sent. When a booking is made by email, fax, telephone or mail, a confirmation is sent to you when the payment has cleared and the contract is made. Most airfares are non-refundable and non-changeable.

3. Payment

A full payment for the airfare is required at the time of the booking in order to guarantee the flights. We hold your deposit towards the full cost of the package tour. The balance must be received by us no later than 6 weeks prior to departure. If you do not pay the full cost within the time specified we reserve the right to cancel all arrangement made on your behalf and retain anything previously paid.

4. Payment method

We accept credit cards (Visa, Mastercard and American Express), debit cards or checks. There is a credit card transaction fee of 3% for all credit card payments and VISA and Mastercard transactions are processed in Iceland. We also accept checks and bank transfers.

5. Price guarantee

We reserve the right to notify you of any increase in advertised prices before accepting your booking. Once you have made the booking the price is fully guaranteed and will not be subject to any additional surcharges. Optional excursions not paid for may be subject to price changes by the supplier. All prices are guaranteed in US dollars.

6. Cancellation by you

If you need to cancel your trip, please let us know as soon as possible. We will have to charge you for any losses we incur because of your cancellation. However, we will do everything we can to minimise your loss. Please note the non-refundable air tickets and non refundable hotel cost will be charged at 100%. The other vacation package charges will be charged for as below.

Maximum cancellation fee:

  • Up to 8 weeks prior to departure: Deposit or 20% of the tour package cost if higher than deposit.
  • 3-8 weeks prior to departure: 40% of the tour package cost, if higher than deposit, else deposit.
  • 2-3 weeks prior to departure: 60% of the tour package cost.
  • 0-2 weeks prior to departure – 100% of the tour package cost.

 

Insurance fees and fees for changes are non refundable. Nordika Travel strongly recommends that you take travel insurance when traveling on Nordika Travel Tours.

7. Cancellation or alteration by Nordika Travel

We will only cancel your trip or alter it if forced to. The cancellation will take place not later than one month prior to the departure date. Where cancellation is made because of circumstances beyond our control by force majeure no compensation will be paid.

If a tour or a leg of the trip needs to be cancelled or altered because of our supplier’s cancellation we will offer a similar trip or similar accommodation. If an inferior or cheaper trip or accommodation is offered we will refund the difference.

8. Changes by the customer

The customer may alter their booking if it is possible. An administration fee of $75 per person will be charged on top of a supplier’s administration fee. Additional services can be booked and all related costs will be invoiced to the customer and no further amendment charges will be made.

9. Passports

U.S. citizens must be in possession of a valid passport when traveling to Iceland. Iceland is a party to the Schengen Agreement. This means that U.S. citizens may enter Iceland for up to 90 days for tourist or business purposes without a visa. Your passport should be valid for at least three months beyond the period of stay. You also need to show that you have sufficient funds and a return airline ticket. Information can also be obtained from the Icelandic Directorate of Immigration website (link: http://www.utl.is/) (available in English).

Non-US Citizens should consult the appropriate consulates for information on visas and other necessary requirements for the countries to be visited. It is the customers’ sole responsibility to verify travel documentation is correct and up-to-date. Website: http://travel.state.gov provides up-to-date entry requirement information for all travelers from the US.

10. Travel Insurance

Nordika Travel strongly recommends that you acquire a travel insurance to protect you against loss due to cancellation, delays, illness or accident, and will require a proof of purchase or a signed waiver form.

11. Liability

Nordika Travel, All Iceland LLC declares all tickets, vouchers, and coupons issued by the company and all arrangements for transport and accommodations made by the company, are made upon the express conditions that it shall not be liable for any injury, damage, loss, accident, delay or irregularity which may occur either by reason of defect in any vehicle or through the act of default of any company or person engaged in conveying the passenger or carrying out the arrangements of the tour, or otherwise in connection therewith or of any hotel proprietor or employee. Nordika Travel can accept no responsibility for losses or accidental expenses due to delay or changes in schedules, defaults, over-booking by hotels, passenger sickness, weather, natural disaster, volcanic eruptions, strikes, war, quarantine or other causes or irregularities outside Nordika Travels’s control. All such losses or expenses will have to be borne by the passenger.

Nordika Travel, All Iceland LLC is released of liability for consequences of the personal activities of any passenger, who, as a consenting adult, is deemed personally responsible for decisions concerning conditions of health, safety, fitness for any activity in which the passenger participates.

Nordika Travel reserves the right to alter routes, itineraries or departure times, without prior notice, should the necessity arise. We require that all customers have their own travel insurance or sign a travel insurance waiver.

12. Complaints

Nordika Travel does it´s very best to make your stay in Iceland as enjoyable as possible. We strive to meet your expectations of our service. If however you find a reason to complain about the hotel, the car service, the excursions – just anything, please inform the relevant party immediately so the cause can be corrected. If our partner cannot solve your problem please contact Nordika Travel staff immediately. Please bear in mind that once the trip has been completed Nordika Travel cannot make any changes or refunds.
